I especially offer the opportunity to experience Dresden on a tour in the evening or on a “Tour at night”. In the glow of the lights, the Zwinger, Fürstenzug and Neumarkt look magically beautiful and very different from the daytime. The city has come to rest.
I take you to surprisingly beautiful spots and views. Of course I will tell you about all the sights, stories and legends on the way. Since I’m quite often on tour as a night-watch-man or a monk, I can tell some blood-curdling and ghastly stories, too…
The “Tour at night” begins on the theater square under the equestrian monument in front of the opera and leads us to the festival courtyard called the Zwinger. At the famous Taschenbergpalais you can listen to the story of Countess Cosel, once Augustus the Strong’s mistress.
We go on through around the Residenzschloss, which have now risen again in old and very modern architecture. We enjoy the view from the Brühlsche Terrasse on the right, Neustadt bank of the Elbe, with the Golden Rider and the State Chancellery.
Via Schlossplatz we then get to the Prince’s procession, the largest porcelain picture in the world. By night, it´s illuminated. On our Tour at night, it looks very different than it does in daylight! The Frauenkirche and the Neumarkt in the glow of the lights are the highlight at the end of the special evening tour.
